Woohoo!

49ers spanked the Jets and the SF Giants have clinched a spot in the playoffs. Whether you are from the bay or not, I have three songs for you to be happy about on what is traditionally the toughest day of the week. Woohoo!

Some funky deep disco vibes to get you in the dancing mood.

If you haven't noticed, we here at FYH love Justin Martin. London based producers Dusky put their own take on his single "Don't Go".

One of my artists to watch in 2012 Deniz Koyu bring his signature big room feel to a beautiful Miike Snow original.

Yours Truly,

P.S. Do not miss that Nicolas Jaar remix that Shake posted below

Strange songs are the only answer for this sleepy fall day.

The Beginning Is Near...

It's Friday. The beginning is near. I have a bit of an eclectic post lined up to prepare you for the weekend ahead. To start, I have some pulsating power trance greatness from my favorite Argie duo, Heatbeat. Next, I have the newest track from John Dahlback, a nifty little progressive monster. Finally, to finish things off,  I have included something from Fehrplay. It's deep, dark, and oddly irresistible. Enjoy.

Bonus:

A tech-house-esque gem that Steve Angello recently played at his Pacha show in NYC.

Out Of The Black

Get More: Music News

In a few days, Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize, is releasing the follow up to his 2009 album "Power" ominously titled "Out of the Black."  After seeing Boys Noize tear it up at Electric Zoo a few weeks back (easily one of the best sets of the festival), I couldn't be more excited.  Somehow MTV got the rights to preview the entire album, so check out the video above and enjoy.  A couple singles have been released already, "XTC," an ode to everyone's favorite party favor, and "What You Want," the first track off the album.  Both are exceptional, as well as MMM's take on the former.  Check them out and make sure to catch Alex live if you get a chance.  You won't be disappointed.

It's Now Or Never

Anjuna is going too hard to hang with right now. I want these links to stay up as long as possible, so I'm not going even to post the song titles or anything. If you're a trance fan, then trust me, you'll love these.

Destinations/Moments

There has been a steady flow of Anjunabeats releases lately: something that will keep my spirits afloat, even in the darkest places. As we all know by now, "life is made of small moments." And who knows where they will take us. Fitting right into this Anjuna-mantra are Genix's latest releases:

My Favorite Mau5

Deadmau5's long awaited album >album title goes here< was leaked today. And, of course, we have it for you. The mangy mau5 changes it up this time around. I haven't quite decided what I think. That being said, it is most certainly worth a listen. Cheers.

Sugar

Store N Forward's latest in their collection of kitchen condiments (along with a couple other tasty treats):

I prefer it without the vocals. But here are both, so take your pick.

This one's a little less trancy.

Five Finger Death Punch

Norin & Rad are two of my favorite Anjunabeats artists. I just saw them for the first time at the Group Therapy stage at Electric Zoo and they absolutely tore it the fuck up. I don't see why these guys haven't blown up yet, but it's bound to happen soon. They're currently collaborating on a song with Andrew Bayer (!), maybe that'll be the one to do it. Here are their two latest singles:

Have you seen my Dirtybird...

Dirtybird, the record company to whom Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin and Leroy Peppers belong, has been putting out sensational deep house music lately. This was highlighted by a phenomenal set by Justin Martin and Claude VonStroke that you can check out here.  Here are a couple of my favorite tracks from this excursion in the deepest, dirtiest, and most bass-driven of house realms. Cheers.

Ooooooooof...

Home

Home is where the heart is. And while mine tends to fly all over the place, it always returns to trance. Much to my delight, there have been a lot of great things happening in the world of trance lately: Above & Beyond have announced that Trance Around The World 450 will be held in India this year as well as a new album that they're beginning work on (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!); Tritonal released Piercing The Quiet Remixed which features so many talented artists that I'm daunted by the task of listening to it; as well as a heavy plate of new music to keep me away from my schoolwork. It's been a while. We have a lot to get through, so...

Let's start with the Tritonal half of the post:

Estiva, he's so hot right now.

Debuted at TATW 400 last November. Been waiting a long time to get my hands on this.

Melodic dubstep? Yes please!

Here's the rest:

Couldn't be happier that this got a release! It's too good to handle.

I've been really digging this Antillas guy lately. Check him out.

This is ripped from the latest TATW. It's awesome! And I'm always happy to hear more of Paavo's voice.

Back To The Grind

Summer is over, and as sun-filled mornings on the beach fade into hours in the library you can expect the FYH crew to get back on our game. We have plenty of new tunes for you all, and will be bringing them your way with a renewed sense of regularity.

To start you off let me leak a little unreleased Swedish House Mafia to wet your appetites. This is their last track as a trio and after testing it on the dance-floor, I think it is going to be a big hit.

French DJ's that collab under the name C2C bringing you some funky fresh grooves. Raises an important question for me though; Can one actually smell the beat?

If you frequent this blog you know how much I love Moon Boots. His latest remix is of a new artist named Alison Valentine who does a pretty great job on the origional as well.

Superstition (Feat Stevie Wonder) - Spenca
Been holding on to this one for a while, but alas, sharing is caring so here you go. Had the privilege of seeing Stevie this summer and he did not disappoint.

Yours truly,

-Slaptop

The Joda, House Style

Inspired by Axwell's epic set at Electric Zoo NY this past weekend, I decided it was time to start posting some down-n-dirty house tracks once again. Here are a couple of my favorites just in time for the weekend. Cheers.

The star of the bunch. If you only download one, it should be this monster.
